Information About Our Hospital

We try to anticipate commonly asked questions and provide the answers here. If you need additional information please e-mail us.

1.
What are your business hours?

Monday through Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-12.

2.
Do I need an appointment?
To serve you as efficiently as possible, we ask that all clients please call ahead and schedule an appointment with the receptionist.

3.
Are you accepting new clients?

Gull Lake Animal Hospital is currently accepting new clients. If your pet has been seen by another veterinarian in the past, we ask that you please bring records with you at the time of your appointment. Another option would be to have your previous veterinarian fax your records to our office ahead of time. Our fax number is: (269) 629-0848. This will assist the doctors in providing for your pet's individual needs.

If you have a new pet, please bring any records with you from breeders/previous owners/animal control/etc. If you acquired your pet from a breeder, the breeder should give you an itemization of each treatment administered to your new pet, such as dewormings or vaccinations.

4.

Can I drop my pet off  in the morning and pick him up after work?

We understand that it is not always convenient to come in during our appointment hours; therefore, we may be able to provide drop off appointments when time and kennel space permits it. Please be aware that there will be an additional day care charge of $10.00 added to your bill.

Clients wishing to drop their pets off for the day still need to schedule an appointment with the front desk.

5.
Is someone there to monitor my pet 24 hours?
There is someone at the hospital from at least 7:30am to 6:30 pm every weekday to ensure that the animals are treated and cared for. Animals requiring close, round-the-clock survailance, or close monitoring on weekends will be referred to the Southwest Michigan Animal Emergency Hospital.

6.

Do you do dog or cat grooming?

We do not have a groomer on staff at Gull Lake Animal Hospital. We will shave mats and give routine baths as time and kennel space permits. For specific breed related grooming styles we recommend that you use an area groomer.

We will shave severely matted cats or dogs as a matted hair coat can cause severe discomfort and several health related issues.  However, many of these animals may require sedation for us to perform this task without overly stressing your pet.

7.

Do I need to reserve kennel space ahead of time?

Kennel space is limited, so we ask that clients call ahead of time to reserve space. Please keep in mind that the kennel is busiest during holidays and over the summer. During these times of the years clients should plan to make reservations 1 - 2 months in advance. For more information click on the Gull Lake Kennels link on the left hand column.
